For example, for a housing association client we matched legacy property stock data to the standard Royal Mail PAF database. This involved 1.2 trillion comparisons. We use Natural Language Processing (NLP) to convert any textual data to numbers and then we apply established Algebraic Modelling to convert these numbers to mathematical vectors. Since computers are exceptionally good at handling numbers rather than texts, we can utilise these numbers to understand which two texts are the most similar. In addition, matches come with a percentage confidence score, so we can quickly see the best match and, if necessary, make an additional judgement for how valid it is. This approach not only delivers the highest quality matching faster, it also allows us to benefit from AI whilst maintaining the control and expertise of our clients.
With this state-of-the-art approach to matching massive quantities of data in the cloud or on-premises, we deliver industry-leading data quality. The lift in productivity in our approach, compared to more conventional approaches like regular expressions (REs), can reduce weeks of processing to hours and can produce 'fuzzy' matches with normalised scores that can be understood and acted-upon by those that require access and input.
