Single View solution supports children’s care in North Yorkshire

March 2020 | News

Sentinel’s powerful Single View solution is helping North Yorkshire’s Children’s and Young People’s Service (CYPS) meet its aim of delivering outstanding social care.

Providing holistic ‘golden’ records containing accurate and timely information, Sentinel’s system is enhancing the CYPS’s work as part of a Multi-Agency Support Teams (MAST) approach to safeguarding children and young people.

Integrating data from multiple sources, Sentinel’s advanced technology enables CYPS staff to access all relevant information at first contact, assisting their work to provide help as early as possible.

Jess Markwart, Group Manager Access and Multiple Vulnerabilities at NYCC, said: “Single View of a Child represents North Yorkshire’s ambition to use information more effectively and efficiently when making decisions.

“Having the platform Sentinel provide at the front door helps social workers do just that. Single View of a Child has been received positively and even after only a few weeks has made an impact, using a much broader set of data to make the right decisions at the right time.”

North Yorkshire is recognised as a leader of social work practice nationally. Last year the County Council was the first local authority to receive “Outstanding” across the board in the Ofsted ILACS inspection.

The Children’s and Young People’s Service (CYPS) is also a designed Partner in Practice (PiP) - one of only 15 local authorities to be selected by the Department for Education (DfE).

“We know our system will make a big difference in delivering even greater levels of care across North Yorkshire,” said Sentinel Partners director, Graham McCusker.

“Complementing the CYPS team’s vision, our system is also forward-looking and can be easily expanded to meet the evolving needs of the County Council and the people it serves.”
