Sentinel’s solutions to underpin pioneering, multi-agency programme

Sentinel has been chosen to provide an integrated data solution for a pioneering multi-agency programme to tackle the interrelated causes of crisis for children and families.

The Cheshire and Warrington Complex Dependency Programme is establishing a new, integrated, joined-up model across agencies and services.

Tackling a range of related and complex issues, the programme looks at both preventative work to help children, families and vulnerable adults to avoid reaching crisis, and providing crisis management for those that have.

Key aims include better outcomes for 35,000 individuals - children, individual adults and families - and financial savings of £9.8m over five years.

The programme’s partner organisations include:

-  Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton and Warrington Councils

-  NHS England

-  Cheshire Police

-  Clinical commissioning groups

-  National Probation Trust

-  Cheshire and Greater Manchester Community Rehabilitation Company

By tailoring its Data Hub and Portal technology, Sentinel will create a data warehouse that integrates data from the agencies to provide an accurate and single view of individuals and families.

The single, defined point of access – known as an integrated front door - will support and enhance the work of the main agencies, including automatically performing tasks for triage and 360 profiles that have previously been undertaken manually.

Meeting strict information governance requirements, Sentinel’s solution will also provide sophisticated reporting capability, including trend analysis.

The issues that the Complex Dependency programme focuses on include:

•       Working with each locality on Stage 2 of the Troubled Families programme

•       Adults and children involved in crime and antisocial behaviour

•       Children having problems at school

•       Children at the edge of care or custody

•       Adults out of work or families at risk of financial exclusion

•       Individuals and families affected by domestic violence and abuse

•       Abusers of drugs and alcohol

•       Individuals with a range of non-age related health problems

•       Young people affected by homelessness

Sentinel Partners director, Graham McCusker, said: "We're delighted to be appointed to provide the data hub that will form a key element of this forward-thinking programme.

"This is just the type of joined-up approach that our technology was designed for and we look forward to supporting the programme and helping it to achieve its objectives."
